Switch it up on em
Hey Everyone!!
Being a girl is all fun and games until you run out of closet space... Am i right? Haha
Anyways I have been wanting to share on how to utilize the pieces you have in multiple ways to create looks from the same existing pieces you have and still kill it everytime. I have found myself wearing and rewearing some of my staple pieces so often that I have felt a sense of accomplishment from being so versatile with pieces I already have. I personally want to break the stigma of you can only wear an outfit/item once then its done.
As someone who loves to dress up and has a wardrobe and shopping appetite as large as mine, I really try to be more conscious of what I buy these days(not just because of the environment) but because I outgrow any closet space faster than I outgrow a pair of jeans LOL (shopping addict probs😩), however I am also someone who falls victim to wearing something once and being done... But recently I’ve been making a conscious effort to mix up my pieces as much as I possibly can.. wear and rewear ok!! I’ve been really trying to maximize the pieces I have!!
This is a Zara set from earlier this year which is no longer available but I will link a few other matching sets. This post however is really just an idea to show the principal I'm talking about.. I have worn this set in multiple different ways and personally love it more everytime I wear it!
The first time I wore this set was in Paris in February then in Milan a few days after... I first paired it with a black turtleneck, beret, black high knee boot and black bag as a great outfit for a day in Paris! The next time I wore it I just added it as an accent piece to my all yellow look and matched it with a similar patterned boot.
The next time I pulled out this look was months later but also I styled it twice in the same weekend.. I paired it this time with an asymmetric cutout top and just wore it with the shorts in the set and just jazzed it up with a Chanel Brooch and black accessories. Look 2 was the full set once again with the infamous Zara one shoulder top and my Amina's + Louis Vuitton box bag!
The keys for the look is:
1. Use complimentary pieces as an accent to your staple
2. If the pieces are a pattern or multi colored like the shorts for example pair your top and accessories in a similar color tone to not take away from the main piece your trying to style (e.g I did a black shirt and all black accessories and added the brooch for a pop)
3. You can always break up a set, don't be a afraid to use piece by piece. For example I used just the jacket alone for some looks while I used the short alone for another!
4. Do not forget to add in pieces that are unique to your style in order to stay true to what represents your personal style
5. Also invest in great staples that can always be paired with multiple looks
